Oiling the oak boards...

Oak boarding with a first coat of Danish oil before fixing in place. Still waiting for the porthole liners.

More panelling...

This weekend we continued with the plywood panelling, most of the boards below the gunwales are complete and also the ceiling. Porthole liners should be arriving from Procast towards the end of this week and we can start the v-t&g boarding.

We finally have a 230v power supply, so we no longer have to rely on battery power.

Plywood panelling...

Today we started the plywood panels below the gunwales and couldn't resist doing a ceiling one to see what it looks like. Starting to look like we're getting somewhere. Definately need to order the porthole liners this week.

Photo isn't the best, both the camera batteries and the spares died so had to take this with a phone camera..

Sample oils...

Samples of Teak oil (lower) and Danish oil (Upper) to see what we liked best, little or nothing beween the two. Think we will be going for Danish though as it seems a smoother finish plus I remember hearing somewhere that you shouldn't use Teak oil on oak, but I could be totally wrong.
